The Lanesborough

Afternoon Tea at The Lanesborough, Belgravia , London

Arriving for Afternoon Tea we were greeted by the very friendly doorman who directed us to reception. We had to wait a little while for someone to show us to our table, but it was worth the wait !

We chose the Parisian Afternoon Tea which was delicious and enjoyed the added bonus of a pianist playing throughout.

The sandwiches arrived first , they really were delicious, especially  the Nicoise Tuna & the Chicken with Advocado – really nice to have something other than the traditional , Cucumber , Beef & Salmon that most Afternoon Teas seem to offer.

Refill sandwiches were offered , the only slight negative for the sandwiches – a little underwhelmed by the presentation ?

The taste however definitely made up for that.

Next came our favourite bit, the Cakes & Scones and they didn’t disappoint, a selection of French madelines & cakes all of which were delicious , not usually a big fan of madeleines, but these were moist & tasty .

One of our party asked for a Gluten & Dairy free option which the staff were happy to provide , and they offered some lovely meringue and fruit cups .

Finally we had homemade scones with choice of Jam or Lemon curd with fresh clotted cream.

£48 per person on a par with similar Afternoon Teas in London, a beautiful setting and think the sandwiches were probably the nicest we have had to date.
