Following a trip to the Motor Show in Battersea Park, a quick Trip Advisor search came up with this nearby establishment and we were delighted with what we found! Humble Grape is essentially a Wine Bar with food. The concept is that all the wines which you can just pick from the shelves and drink are sourced directly from the producer. The choice was astounding and how I could have stayed for hours!
The small buy wholly acceptable menu consisted of sharing platters, small tapas style plates and a couple of main plates. I chose the Catch of the day and my son the Rump steak.
An absolute jewel, we couldn’t believe our luck. Can’t wait to try their other bars in Fleet Street and Islington
Another London day trip, this time at Galvin at The Athenaeum on Piccadilly. We met a friend and had cocktails in the bar before lunch, loved the choices on “beer mats”, the Sidecar was a definite thumbs up!
The decor in the restaurant was beautiful and the staff attentive, nothing was too much trouble. We chose from the Prix Fixe menu and were all delighted with our choices, the warm crunchy bread was divine.
Our main courses
and divine desserts 🙂
As ever our visit began and ended in the bathroom, and yes we took photos here too! A lovely finishing touch with the doormat too we thought.
All in all an excellent experience and looking forward to a trip to Galvin at Windows in the future we all agreed.
London Marriott County Hall, Westminster.
Long post alert!…
Afternoon tea “WITH” free flowing bubbles, oh my goodness this day trip nearly got messy!
A short walk from Waterloo underground station along the Southbank, a lovely start to the day.
Time for a quick snap before we begin 🙂 I can’t possibly divulge how many shots we took before we settled with this one. Hey, its’s what we look like!
